Description
The Baby Pelham is a versatile cheek piece that provides combined leverage on the head (behind the ears) and chin. This bit can be used with either one or two reins. When riding with one rein, itโs important to use a Pelham strap, which connects the large and lower loose rings. The greater the leverage, the stronger the bitโs leverage. The Baby Pelham is distinguished by its short shanks, resulting in a gentler leverage than a standard Pelham. For optimal effectiveness, the curb chain should be properly secured.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of high-quality iron and have a distinctive blue color due to heating during the manufacturing process. Upon contact with air and moisture, a sweet surface rust develops, stimulating the horseโs saliva production. This results in increased foaming and better acceptance of the bit. The oxidation process changes the blue color to silver to brownish-gray, contributing to the bitโs natural appearance. Even if a temporary orange-brown rust layer forms when not in use, this can be easily removed and is harmless.
