The Sweet Iron bits are made of high-quality iron and have a distinctive blue color due to heating during the manufacturing process. Upon contact with air and moisture, a sweet surface rust develops, stimulating the horse’s saliva production. This results in increased foaming and better acceptance of the bit. The oxidation process changes the blue color to silver to brownish-gray, contributing to the bit’s natural appearance. Even if a temporary orange-brown rust layer forms when not in use, this can be easily removed and is harmless.
